About Me
I am Zhi Zhi Chia (she/her), a Malaysian art historian-in-training and curator based in Berlin. At Migrant Bird Space, I develop exhibitions and curatorial projects at the intersection of contemporary Chinese visual culture, diaspora identity and decolonial theory. My research interests include chinoiserie, East–West exchange, the female nude as a subject in art history, and the workings of colonial and postcolonial power in visual culture. I am also the creator of @orientaldressings, a public platform reaching 400K+ monthly viewers that translates institutional critique and decolonial art discourse for general audiences. I hold a B.A. in Arts and Humanities from Minerva University, where I studied across seven cities on four continents. I work in English, Mandarin, German, Cantonese and Malay.
